Neha Tibrewal, a student
of Class XI, Modern High School
for Girls, had participated
in an art workshop conducted
by “Hue ‘n’
I”. This organization
has been functioning in Kolkata
since 2002. The main purpose
of PLASMA – their art
gallery, is to help children
suffering from blood disorders.
25% of all proceeds from the
gallery go directly for the
purchase of blood required
for the treatment of leukemia,
thalassaemia, lymphoma, haemophilia,
etc.
Neha had contributed around
14 paintings conceptualized
on the basis of ‘soul’,
and they were titled –
‘Strength’, ‘Energy’,
‘Aura’, ‘Fantasy’,
‘Wood’, ‘Paper’,
‘Wire’, etc. She
had been allocated a special
corner to display her works.
|
| It
is truly creditable that at
the age of seventeen, she
has exhibited her works and
even managed to sell 4 of
her paintings. The special
features of her paintings
were the thick textures, rich
colours and the internal depth
of each work.
The exhibition was held from
October 2 – 4 at Plasma,
Alipore, and according to
the budding artist, it was
a totally new and wonderful
experience.
Best wishes to her for the
future!
