Animal Action Week – October 1 – 7, 2007
Theme: To the Rescue – Emergency Relief for Animals
Organised by: IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) in association with WTI (Wildlife Trust of India)

Goals: Education, awareness, campaigning.

Students are actively participating in the programme by signing a ‘Climate Change Pledge’, whereby they will do all they can to combat climate change by-
 Refusing, reducing, reusing and recycling
 Saving energy
 Cutting wasteful travel
 Encouraging others to change

They are also participating in a competition where they have to paint one of the many animal species that IFAW-WTI has rescued from natural disasters.

 

The school sent up 166 students for the ISC Examination 2007. 36% have scored above 90%. For the ICSE

Examination 2007, 35.5% of the 155 students who appeared for the exam, scored 90% and above.

21st World Scout Jamboree at London from 27th July to 9th August, 2007. Mrs. B. Roy and Mrs. C Sood are attending with 10 guides.

Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy has selected two paintings by Sarjana Datta and Surarupa Bhattacharjee (Class X) to be printed as greeting cards for 2007

 

 

 

 






Outings & Excursions

EXCURSIONS
  • The Guide Company of Modern High School for Girls and the Biology students of Class XI accompanied by their respective teachers left for an expedition to Peling in Sikkim on 10th May, 2007.They came back on 14th May, 2007.

  • Excursion to Puri - Bhubaneshwar
    Class 8A and 8B went on an excursion to Puri and Bhubaneshwar on Friday, 14th September. They were accomapanied by their teachers Ms Saugata Banerjee, Ms. Shubha Banerjee, Ms. Chandrima Sood and Ms.Vijaylakshmi. They returned on Sunday night, 16th September.

    Class 8C and 8D are going on the same excursion on Friday, 21st September and will be coming back on Sunday, 23rd September. They will be accompanied by their teachers Ms. Bhaswati Roy, Ms. Jayashree Mukherjee, Ms. Indira Bhattacharya and Ms. Nupur Ghosh.
